TERRIBLE: Birth Control

May 6th will be 2 whole years since I quit smoking, such a stupid STUPID habit, Man the 20's perspective really did SUCK, but MAN the body was bangin'. While I do have my moments (just brief moments) of feeling my biological clock kicking me in the face it's when I see things like this:

I feel TRULY blessed that I am not a Mom yet, it's a crazy world we live in & this is one of the gnarliest things I've seen all week. I live in LA I see gnarly things ALL the time, 2 weeks ago I saw a homeless chick with implants & NO she wasn't Bush Economy induced homeless, girlfriend has been like that for a minute she had the dreads & the tan to prove it... anywho this is truly disturbing & I pray for all of my friends who are trying their best to raise their rugrats in this world. How I Roll: I have the greatest friends on the PLANET!

So my Bestie in Oz & brilliant animator Shannon, he's the one that animated the fab intro to my show is working on a animated version of his series Frame by Frame & has once again animated me , yup I went straight to the gym after I saw this, he thinks way too highly of me... hahahahaha.

I also had EDB scoop by the house & pick up the rest of the Cupcakes before I ate them all & added to my ever expanding rump. She, Jesse & our favorite globe trotter SpaceCamp Jesse (SCJ) had a bit of fun with the Cupcakes, she also dropped off a FABULOUS gift bag for me full of Easter goodies, will post those tomorrow, gotta run to pole class now... she's SOFA KING COOL!♥

TERRIBLE: A Kosher Way to Make EVERYTHING Taste Like Bacon

Ok I ♥LOVE♥ bacon, who doesn't? I love BLT's, Bacon in my salads, pizza, wrapped around bananas (if you haven't tried that oh my WORD it's so damn good) I mean I agree Bacon makes A LOT of things better but Bacon Salt & oh man I can't say this without gagging a bit...

Baconnaise, spreadable Bacon Mayo is just going WAY too far. Apparently they are touting this to be a "zero calorie, zero fat Vegetarian & Kosher seasoning" sweet Jeezus! http://www.baconsalt.com/

Baked: Guava & Cheese Cupcakes

I wanted to keep with the theme & basically use up the remaining eggs I had left & the rest of the guava & make cupcakes. I took a huge risk by adding Guava Nectar into the mix but hoped the fact I used whole wheat flour would manage it & boy did it. These are the first cupcakes I ever made that I could fill to the top & not worry about it spilling over in the oven, I think the juice made it do that. ♥

I also added mashed Guava Chunks, seriously softest cupcakes EVER! I do wish I got better paste though, like the one Goya makes. This one had MASSIVE seeds in it, how annoying removing them one by one, but at the end worth it, I made GUAVA CUPCAKES!!! Next time I will use egg replacement or just whites & rice or almond milk to make them a little more guilt free.

Brekkie: Guava & Cheese French Toast

Maine has Lobster, New England has Clam Chowder, Philly has it's Cheesteak & Miami's most famous & beloved dish is Guayaba con Queso Pastelitos (Guava & Cream Cheese pastries). Craving my favorite treat & realizing I have 6 eggs left & tomorrow's the expiration date I should pass on my morning oatmeal routine & make something special. I came up with these years ago when I moved to LA before I found out about Porto's bakery in Glendale, this is the first time I've had it on a day other than a Sunday... must tack on an extra 20 minutes on the treadmill, but they are SO worth it! 'NYO!♥

I LOVE Thai!!! That's ALL I want to say, made it last night to finish off my Take out TAKE DOWN using the beef I had left over from my cheesesteak, made it my way with the ingredients I had off hand... NEVER need to order Thai delivery again! I'm a VERY happy girl about that. I made it SUPER spicy & had a ice cold beer to cool myself down. SO happy, happy HAPPY!!! Sriracha is true love ♥

So here's the Island part. I didn't have tamarind paste so like the true Haitian that I am I mixed Worstershire & Pineapple Vinegar with the sugar & the rest of the ingredients... MY GOODNESS!!!The Pineapple Vinegar really made the whole dish pop! I'll probably catch flack of it not being a true Pad Thai... most likely by a Thai person or someone that's been to Thailand & thinks they're an expert but then they can always order it from me & I'll charge $10 + tax + tip... thhhhhhhhhhppppppppppppppffffffffffffffffff!

Here is my favorite scene from one of my favorite movies of all time "If A Man Answers". The quick & very witty banter between these two is written so well. I wish I were able to remake this. Sandra is just so charming & when he asks her to have pleasant thoughts, concentrate on something really beautiful, the most wonderful thing in the world... oh it's just to die for, so cute! I ♥♥♥♥ that kitchen!*swoon* I wish my Haitian Mother had all of that French advice... fab!
